Pilar Jurado, the director of the Department of Customs and Special Taxes of the Agencia Tributaria, revealed at the Customs Forum, held this week in Valencia, that between March and November, her department received an average of 10,000 telephone calls per month from approximately 6,000 different numbers. Jurado emphasized the high percentage of attention to these calls and the importance of the work carried out by the Tax Agency in improving information and assistance to both citizens and the private sector.
The Agency offers various communication channels, including in-person attention, non-presential channels, and an assistance service. Furthermore, Jurado announced that a service charter is being developed, still in progress, which will cover information on customs foreign trade, document delivery and collection, certificate signing, and the payment of debts and guarantees.
Finally, Jurado mentioned that the Agency is focused on its upcoming strategic plan, which includes promoting the voluntary compliance with tax obligations. This approach is based on providing active information and assistance to facilitate the knowledge and compliance of taxpayers. Jurado concluded her speech by stating that the majority of Spaniards, both at the business and individual levels, wish to comply with their tax obligations.
