Berlin was the host city for the 16th World Customs Law Meeting, organized by the International Customs Law (ICLA), where Alejandro Arola serves as a member. The event brought together experts from various disciplines related to international trade and customs, including industry authorities, legislators, consultants, business representatives, and law firms.
During the sessions, current customs issues were discussed, such as the new Customs Code of the Union (CAU), the implementation of the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and panels focused on the harmonization and standardization of customs sanctions and infringements, among other topics.
