The Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz has welcomed a delegation of port executives and companies from Latin American countries participating in the Latin American Port Leaders Mission to Spain. This initiative, organized by Maritime Policy Bureau and PR Ports, is part of the Port Leaders Program and is supported by the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the OAS.
The main objective of this mission is to promote innovation, sustainability, and intercontinental collaboration in the maritime port sector. During their visit, the delegation toured various Spanish ports, including the Bay of Cádiz.
The delegation, consisting of about twenty people, was received by the president of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz. Accompanied by the port director, the honorary consul of Uruguay and CEO of Europea Group, Jesús Otero, and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the Cádiz Free Zone, and the company PTP Group, they had the opportunity to learn about the port facilities and details about the port’s organization. Additionally, they discussed the challenges facing the port system.
During their tour, the visitors went to Cabezuela-Puerto Real, the New Container Terminal, and the commercial basin of the capital. In these locations, they were able to observe the port’s integration with the city, exchange experiences, and resolve questions about daily management.
The Mission of Latin American port business leaders to Spain has been an opportunity to strengthen ties and share knowledge about innovation and sustainability, key elements for the future development of the port sector on both continents.
